CPCS Training – CPCS stands for the Construction Plant Competence Scheme and is one of the most widely recognised card schemes in the Construction Industry. CPCS is generally accepted across sites nationwide, the CPCS card allows you to get a foot in the doorway and begin your route to becoming a competent plant operator.

The CPCS tests are no walk in the park, If you’re doing a CPCS test then make sure you are fully prepared. All candidates will need to Achieve a Verbal Theory test and Achieve a Practical test to show their ability to Operate plant to a good standard. Candidates must have the passed the relevant CITB Health, Safety and Environment test before taking any CPCS Theory and Practical test.

CITB Touchscreen Health & Safety Test

The CITB CSCS Test / HS&E Test helps to increase your understanding of how to behave on site and raise your awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental problems or hazards. The CITB test is required for CPCS Operator Cards and are vital to gain access to Construction sites. Each CITB test lasts for 45 minutes and have 50 multiple choice knowledge questions.

Online CITB Card Checker

The online CITB Card Checker will show an individuals CITB information including cards, tests & SSP course details. All results are administered by CITB and are accurate to their knowledge. In order to find out this information using the card checker you must enter a combination of 2 details which are listed below.

• Surname + Individual ID/Registration Number
• Surname + National Insurance Number
• Surname + CITB Score Report Number
• Date of Birth + Individual ID/Registration Number
• Date of Birth + National Insurance Number

The CITB card checker can be used by employees to check whether or not an individual has the necessary qualifications & cards before entering a Construction site. It can also be used by the individuals themselves to check if all of their qualifications are up-to-date and accurate.

NOCN/CPCS online Card Checker

The NOCN/ CPCS online Card Checker will show an individual’s CPCS information including cards, tests, NVQ’s, card extensions and CITB HS&E tests. All results are administered by the NOCN/CPCS and are accurate to their knowledge. In order to find out this information using the card checker you must enter a combination of 2 details which are listed below.

• Surname + Card Number
• Surname + NI Number
• Date of Birth + Card Number
• Date of Birth + NI Number

The NOCN/ CPCS online card checker can be used by employees to check whether or not an individual has the necessary qualifications & cards before entering a Construction site. It can also be used by the individuals themselves to check if all of their qualifications are up-to-date and accurate. 

NVQ’s (National Vocational Qualifications)

NVQ’s (National Vocational Qualifications) are required when upgrading from a CPCS Red Card to a CPCS Blue Card.

Are looking to do a NVQ Level 2 to upgrade your CPCS Red Card to Blue? NVQ’s (National Vocational Qualifications) are based on national occupational standards. NVQ’s are for competent operators to display their capabilities and knowledge on the specific item(s) of Plant.

NVQ’s (National Vocational Qualifications) can be completed in your own time, delivered to Self employed works, full-time operatives and apprentices. There are no age limits and no specific entry requirements to complete an NVQ.
